Police officers and supporters run along Davis Drive during the Const. Rob Plunkett Memorial Torch Run for Special Olympics Thursday. In honour of the slain police officer’s support of Special Olympics, York Regional Police renamed its annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to raise funds and awareness of the Special Olympics movement worldwide. The last nine-kilometres of the run, which started in Orillia, was from Upper Canada Mall to the York Regional Police Association Building on Stonehaven Avenue.
