Re: You can buy a coffee for our troops in Kandahar, Nov. 20.

Reading this article brought tears to our eyes. What a wonderful idea to show we care. Our son Adam, 24, is the neighbour Loretta Lavell refers to and is currently stationed in Petawawa.  

He is passionate about serving his country.  He would love to be able to help people in need and if the situation arises, he will be sent to Afghanistan where his cousin is serving.  

We can all pray for peaceful solutions, but as long as the Canadian leaders are sending men and women into situations of strife, they must be prepared to back them up, like we do: as if they are their own flesh and blood.  

Support our troops.
