Sex crimes officers are investigating after police were told a sexual assault took place Monday in Richmond Hill.

At about 1 p.m., officers responded to a home northeast of Bathurst Street and Elgin Mills Road after a report of an assault against a female, according to Const. Gary Phillips.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, officers canvassed the area looking for more information about the assault, Det.-Const. James McRobbie of the sexual assault bureau said.

“We can confirm this is a report of a sexual assault,” he said. “It is under investigation.”

Police have bee told that two males were involved in the incident, Det.-Const. McRobbie said. He said no other information about suspects involved was available.
