The Newmarket Hurricanes will look for a third straight win and a chance to move up in the Central Division standings when the St. Michael’s Buzzers visit the Ray Twinney Complex tonight in Ontario Junior Hockey League action.
The Hurricanes (14-11-1) moved into fifth place in the eight-team division with a 2-1 overtime victory over the Cobourg Cougars Monday night in Cobourg.
The win also pushed Newmarket to within a single point of the fourth-place Toronto Jr. Canadiens.
Joel Hanley notched the game-winner against the Cougars on a powerplay in the third minute of the overtime period and netminder Jimmy Sarjeant turned aside 44 shots for the win.
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Aurora Tigers host the North York Rangers in Phillips Division action tomorrow (7:30 p.m.) at the Aurora Community Centre.
