Are your ready for some art, Stouffville?
The eighth annual Stouffville Studio Tour takes place Saturday and Sunday.
Admission to the studios is free. There are 21 studios and 31 artists taking part.
“We had record crowds last year and are looking forward to a good response again,” said spokesperson Diana Bullock.
“I think the tour is successful because we have such a wide variety of work. There is really something for everyone.”
The works are created using media including watercolour, acrylic, and oil paints, as well as graphite drawings, wood block printing and jewelry.
Visitors can pick up ballots at participating locations for a chance to win $200 to spend at one of the studios.
Two of the tour artists had their work accepted into the exhibition The Changing Face of York Region that’s on at Latcham Gallery in Stouffville through Sunday.
Sandra Cole Burke has several of her wood block prints and Ms Bullock has Sumi-e [Japanese ink paintings] in the show.
“The gallery has always been part of the tour and a great supporter so this makes a nice connection,” Ms Bullock said.
