Students form Master Myung's Taekwondo Academy collected 26 medals after taking to the mat in the 12th annual Ultimate Taekwondo Championship in Ajax.
In the colour belt division, gold medals in patterns were earned by: William Renault (yellow stripe), J.R. Coronel (green), Irie Chung (blue stripe), Sam Hong (red stripe), Bruce Rego (red stripe) and Ashley Fung (black stripe).
Silver medallists included: Jovita Hong (yellow stripe), Joshua Lo (yellow), Abteen Nooreini (green stripe), Shane Hsieh (blue stripe), Judy Song (blue stripe), Albert Montano (red stripe), Jordan Lo (red) and Ted Wiktorowicz (black stripe).
Bronze medallists were: Kathryn Cheuk (blue stripe), Maria Petrovski (blue), Joshua Hong (red stripe), William Tu (yellow stripe) and Eugene Wong (yellow stripe).
In sparring, gold medals were awarded to: Christopher Thomas (yellow), Brandon DiPaola (green), Caitlin MacKinnon (blue stripe), Irie Chung (blue stripe), Kristian Petrovski (blue), Alena Adel (blue), Albert Montano (red stripe), Quincy Banfield (red stripe), Sam Hong (red stripe), Bruce Rego (red stripe), Veronica Drilon (black stripe) and Ted Wiktorowicz (black stripe).
In the black belt division, Ruxandra Rodgers, 15, won gold in pattern (third degree). Justina Yu, 9, earned silver (first degree) while William Rodgers, 12, claimed a bronze (second degree).
In sparring, gold medals were claimed by: Stefan Trantalovski, 9, (first degree), Jacky Yao, 9, (first degree), Alexandra Russo, 13, (first degree) and Nicholas Chow, 14, (first degree). Filip Trantalovski, 12, claimed a silver (second degree). Bronze medals went to: Shawn Persaud, 12, (first degree), Gian Coronel, 12, (first degree), Alex Maroussis, 15, (second degree) and Ruxandra Rodgers, 15, (third degree).
