While provincial politicians have spent the summer politicking in the lead up to the Oct. 10 vote, campaigning officially begins Monday.
But candidates in the riding of Newmarket-Aurora won’t have to wait to exchange blows.
The Newmarket Chamber of Commerce is hosting an all candidates debate at the Newmarket Theatre Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.
Progressive Conservative incumbent Frank Klees will be joined by Liberal candidate Christina Bisanz, NDP candidate Mike Seaward and Eve Simson is seeking the nomination for the Green Party.
Chamber president Barbara Bartlett will once again be the moderator.
Candidates will provide brief opening statements before fielding questions from the panel.
That will be followed by what many voters consider the most anticipated portion of the debate, when for about 30 minutes, each candidate can ask their competitor two questions.
Four seats have been added for next month’s election as provincial ridings shifted to mirror federal ridings.
Mr. Klees, who first represented the area when elected with former premier Mike Harris in 1995, will be challenged by two newcomers, Liberal Ms Bisanz and Green candidate Ms Simson.
Mr. Seaward lost out to current Finance Minister Greg Sorbara in the last provincial election.
