Town seeks volunteers

The town is looking for volunteers to participate in the process  of governing the municipality and charting its future.

Volunteer positions are available on a variety of advisory committees.  

 Apply to use your talents and interests for the benefit of our community.

Applicants must be residents of Markham and 18 years of age. Markham Council  members may conduct personal interviews for these positions. Committee member  qualifications and meeting frequency vary, depending on the committee.

Markham residents may apply for positions on: the Canada Day Committee;  Heritage Markham Committee; the Public Art Advisory Committee; Markham  Race Relations Committee; and the Markham Theatre Advisory Board.  

For a summary of the terms of reference for each of these committees, or to obtain an application, visit www.markham.ca, or visit the Town of Markham clerk’s  department at the Markham Civic Centre.   

Return the completed application, along with your resume, to the attention of the Town Clerk, Town of Markham Clerk’s Department, 101 Town Centre Blvd., Markham, Ont., L3R 9W3, by mail, in person, by fax to 905-479-7771, or by email to  jkee@markham.ca, no later than 4:30 p.m. Oct. 31.
