The Markham Mariners advanced to the semifinals of the 52nd annual Lions-Canadian National Exhibition Peewee Baseball Tournament in Toronto after trouncing the Mississauga Majors 11-4 in their quarter-final game Monday in Toronto.

The Mariners got off to a quick start and led 9-3 through two innings and never looked back.

The Mariners face Hamilton in a semifinal game tonight at 7 p.m.

Hamilton won its quarter-final game over Wexford-Agincourt 5-4 Monday.

The winner of today’s semifinal will face the victor of the North York-Brampton match that began at 5 p.m.

The two semifinal winners will play in Thursday’s final at 6 p.m.
