York Regional Police have linked a King Township youth to two of four bomb threats, phoned in to King City Secondary School this school year.
Police were called to the King Road high school on September, 24, at about 11:35 a.m., after receiving a bomb threat, police said.
Students and staff were evacuated from the school while police conducted a search, however no bomb was found.
The next day, at about 3:25 p.m., police were again called after a bomb threat was made against the school. The school was again evacuated and a search yielded no bomb.
The following day, a 16-year-old King City boy, who cannot be identified, was arrested at home, police said.
He is charged with two counts of conveying a false message — bomb threat, failing to comply with release conditions and breaching probation.
Lucia Cascioli, York Region District School Board spokesperson, said the board takes these matters seriously but she could not confirm if the youth arrested is a student at the school.
A probe into two other bomb threats, called into the school on September, 29 and October 3, continued at press time, according to police.
