Dr. Bob Bebbington and the volunteers of the Georgina Health Council recruiting committee attended the Health Professionals Recruitment Tour.

The tour is an annual job fair that provides an opportunity for residents, medical students and other health professionals to meet and make contacts with community representatives from underserviced areas across Ontario, Dr. Bebbington said.

The tour covered five cities in five days, with stops in Ottawa, Kingston, Hamilton, London and Toronto.

“It was the place to be for physicians, doctors, residents, nurses and other medical professionals who are looking for jobs and new practice opportunities,” Dr. Bebbngton said.

In 2007, more than 90 different communities and organizations were represented at the Tour.

Dr. Bebbington feels that the Georgina group produced an “organized, highly productive effort and I fully expect that we will successfully recruit physicians with a concerted follow up”.
