International grand illusionist Ryan Joyce brings his brand of world class magic and illusions to Sutton District High School Tuesday at 8 p.m.
The show is presented by the Georgina Professional Fire Fighters Association.
“This year marks our eight annual nationwide charity tour and our audiences are expecting bigger and better. I certainly can’t let down a challenge like that,” Mr. Joyce said.
So what can you expect at the show?
“Vegas baby!” Mr. Joyce said. “We are bringing Las Vegas style entertainment right to you. You don’t even have to drive to the airport. With over 8,000 pounds of lighting, sound, special effects and magic you can expect all the excitement found only in a Vegas showroom.”
Mr. Joyce is no stranger to the world stage.
“We are very excited because this year we have been asked to headline magic’s most prestigious tour. New Zealand’s World Festival of Magic is one of the biggest and longest running magic tours ever produced.”
However, travelling with a large magic show isn’t always as glamorous as it sounds.
“Last year, I was on the road for seven months. In one month I spent over $11,000 on vehicle repairs which included replacing our truck’s transmission in the middle of a tour,” he said.
“It’s those kinds of days you wonder, ‘Is it really worth it?’
“That’s when I get a call or e-mail from one our charities saying that the money we raised helped make a child’s wish come true or because of our show the firefighters got new life saving equipment.
“Suddenly vehicle problems don’t seem so important.”
