More than 800 Georgina residents rely on the Georgina Community Food Pantry every month.

Many of them are single mothers.

That is what makes the annual Spring Food Drive important, food bank director Mary Queen said.

The drive will continue until March 28 and food can be dropped off at all churches, grocery stores and fire halls in Georgina.

Non-persishable food items such as canned vegetables or pork and beans are at the top of the list, Mrs. Queen said.

“We know residents of our town will be as generous as they have always been in helping the less fortunate among us,” she added.

Financial donations are also welcome and can be sent to: Alf Judd, Georgina Community Food Pantry, RR 1, Keswick, ON, L4P 3C8.
